Hi Sweet Friend! 

If you are like me you’ve probably been looking all around internet trying to figure out what to do to commemorate your baby’s 1st birthday. One is a HUGE deal! It’s the first time your baby can be part of the celebration, the first time they may try cake, and possibly take their first steps. It is the closing of a chapter of all their firsts—first smile, first laugh, first trip to the store, first bath. So many firsts and so many memories. As you know, their first year is one of the hardest and sweetest moments you have yet to experience. So many highs and lows.

QUE Cake Smash Session! This is my FAVORITE kind of session! One year olds are so sweet and genuine! UGH! Give me all the squishy babies!! It can be a super clean look or extravagantly themed to match your personal style. I take time to capture the birthday girl/boy in their formal portraits all clean and adorable, then move onto the main event! Put the cake in font of baby and wait….Will they smash it? Will they just stare at it?? Ohh the suspense! I give them time to experience the texture on their chubby fingers and the taste on their lips...some babies do not want any part of it and that's okay! I always have a big ole spoon on hand for them to use and 9 out of 10 times it’s a hit! I will never make a baby eat the cake or smash it—that would end horribly and in tears. Your baby runs the show. Whatever they decide, you will have gorgeous photos of your baby celebrating their 1st year of life.
